NCBA Injects KES 4.6 Billion in Asset Finance to Drive Business Growth in Western Kenya

NCBA has allocated KES 4.6 billion in asset finance for Western Kenya to help businesses and individuals acquire vehicles, machinery, equipment and technology to support business development.

The financing has supported demand for assets across sectors including agriculture, transport and logistics, manufacturing, construction, education, healthcare and trade, where most businesses require equipment to improve productivity.

The announcement was made in Kisumu during the unveiling of the 20th edition of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS, where dealers, distributors, insurance brokers and other partners are recognized for their roles in helping customers access asset financing.

Speaking during the launch, Lennox Mugambi, Group Director for Asset Finance and Business Solutions at NCBA, said asset financing allows businesses to invest in essential equipment and drives economic growth for the region.

“Asset financing enables businesses to acquire critical equipment while preserving working capital for day-to-day operations and other areas of growth. As we mark 20 years of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS, we are celebrating more than business performance. We are celebrating the partnerships that have enabled entrepreneurs, transporters, farmers, contractors, schools, hospitals, manufacturers and countless businesses across Kenya to acquire the assets they need to grow,” said Mugambi.

Additionally, NCBA has maintained 30% share of Kenya’s asset finance market in the first half of 2026, as the bank continued to expand financing options for emerging asset categories, including electric vehicles and solar equipment.

According to Mugambi, the categories for the awards are drawing interest from businesses and individuals seeking technologies that can improve efficiency and help manage operating costs.

The 20th anniversary edition of the NCBA JOHARI AWARDS will cover four regions: Coast, Western, Mt. Kenya and Nairobi. The regional circuit will recognise industry partners whose collaboration has helped customers acquire assets for business growth and operational expansion.
